Sewing for Stuffies

This weekend something very special and rare will happen in the Apple Pie house.  My husband and I are going on a date!  A pre-planned date!  The things will all be at friends’ houses for sleepovers, and we are going to go out and paint the town red.  We might be really brazen and stay out super late, till 10 o’clock! (And sadly, this is not a joke; we are often home by 9:30 on date nights.)

So, when you are going to a friend’s house for a sleepover, you best little stuffie always comes along.  And your stuffie needs a sleeping bag too, right? I had seen a pattern for a stuffed animal sleeping bag at Apple Cyder awhile back, and decided to try it out.  The pattern is great and these went together very quickly and without incident.

Stuffie sleeping bags

There they are, all snug and cozy. They all chose their own fabrics. Thing 1 picked the aqua, Thing 2 picked green, and Thing 3 picked pink.

The backs are different, but coordinating, as requested.

I’m sure Bianca, Speckles, and TJ will be nice and warm, and help them to sleep well.

  2. Oh wow, so much cuteness! My inner child really want an excuse to make one of these. The stuffie with the huge eyes looks especially adorable in his sleeping bag 🙂
